Asunto Oy Verkkosaaren Artus is being realised as a semi-Hitas site.
The complex is located on a plot rented from the City of Helsinki, at Vanha talvitie 31, 00580 Helsinki. The PANKOW residential block is being built close to Hermannin rantapuisto seafront park, with the residential block home to four complexes, a shared yard deck, and below this a carpark.
The Asunto Oy Verkkosaaren Artus complex will feature studio-type residential apartments measuring 39–80.5 m² and implemented as blank-slate-style EKE Loft apartments. The apartments have a ceiling height of approximately four metres, with the seven-story complex featuring 46 apartments as well as facilities including a common room and shared saunas.

Our blank slate Loft apartments offer a finished framework and pre-installed toilet and bathroom. The rest – you decide on. You can plan how you want the space to be divided, or you can go fully open plan. You can decide on your dream kitchen, flooring and any internal walls. The room height is up to four metres – meaning that a mezzanine sleeping level is an option, also increasing your living space. EKE builds the framework, you create your dream end result.
A Loft home is not a compromise – far from it – instead it offers you the opportunity to craft your perfect home.
Vārds no arhitekta
Asunto Oy Verkkosaaren Artus, which has garnered plenty of international attention, is being realised as a two-phase construction concept. This is an exceptionally resident-friendly way to produce apartment blocks: the developer realises the space, in which the resident can then create their own apartment.
It’s been a delight to work with EKE again and make the dreams of self-builders come true. The last Loft project – Asunto Oy Helsingin Harkko – was completed in Kruunuvuorenranta in 2019. These big, bright spaces will undoubtedly inspire many people to make their dream apartment a reality.
We have dimensioned the apartments to allow for a range of different spatial solutions. Residents who love the space of loft-type apartments can take on their apartments as they are, with the only work that needs doing being building their dream kitchen. The apartment can be built in stages and designed flexibly, to meet the needs of the various stages of life.
Individuality and flexibility are so important to us that we are happy to leave the realisation of the home to the resident themselves, based on their own schedule and budget. Furthermore, we have made sure to make the shared spaces comfortable and home-like: the materials used must be high quality and the outdoor spaces pleasant. The apartments in this balcony-access block open up through the building in at least two directions and there is direct access to outdoor space on both sides of the apartment.
